About Us

We are a new family run business established in 2021, currently with no staff but relying on the part-time efforts of family members. We intend to offer a good honest reliable service and should this prove successful, we will expand accordingly.

The owner, Howard Lees, has been a Land Rover enthusiast for 40 years and is the proud owner of two Lightweights, a Series IIA and III, as well as civilian Series IIA. He has rebuilt all of these himself learning as he went (and still learning) with help from friends, fellow enthusiasts and various forums.

The IIA Lightweight rebuild is documented on the The Military Lightweight Club forum where he can be found as LandyLees. He is also a member of EMLRA (Ex-Military Land Rover Association).

Series Parts started one night in 2021 with Howard sitting on the sofa surfing the internet after a beer too many. Howard came across Philip Bashall’s Dunsfold retirement auction where there were quite a few interesting Lightweight parts. The beer having eased his inhibitions, he put in what he thought was a cheeky bid and ended up with a pallet of Land Rover parts. Whilst selling off the parts he didn’t want on eBay, he realised that there was quite a demand – he stopped selling off the unwanted items and started bidding on other Dunsfold’s lots using his pension funds. One year on and we have 1500 different lines of stock and the basis of a website.

Phil has been incredibly helpful and continues to freely share his knowledge. Whilst it was a sad day when he announced his retirement, he has opened up an opportunity for us and we look forward to the opening of the permanent home for the Dunsfold Collection.`
